Top 5 Active Point Guards For The 2020-2021 NBA Season
The point guard position is an essential piece to any good team in the NBA. This list is going to go over the best active point guards for the 2020-2021 season, and take a look past personal stats. What matters most is how vital each player is to their teams’ success.

#1. Steph Curry
Steph Curry was easy for us to place at number one on this list. As the scoring champion for this season, he’s been averaging 32 Pts, 5.8 AST, and 5.5 rebounds a game. The Warriors are not in the best shape this season offensively, so Steph had to shoulder most of the load. It shows in his stat line that the team primarily needed Steph to shoot and score for them to win the most games. The Warriors have now found themselves in the play in tournament versing the Lakers.

#2. Damian Lillard
Next on our list is Damian Lillard for his amazing scoring performance. With a stat line of 28 Pts, 7.5 AST, and 4.2 rebounds it’s clear Lillard shared a similar role to Steph. His team’s main focus is for Lillard and CJ McCollum to score and be the primary focus on offense.

#3. Chris Paul
Chris Paul is the definition of a pure point guard. His impact on the Phoenix Suns can’t be overlooked. The Suns were a team in desperate need of a good point guard. During the 2018-2019 season the Suns only won 19 games, and during the 2019-2020 season they were able to win 34 games. Now in the 2020-2021 season the Suns have won 52 games, and are second in the Western Conference, thanks to the addition of Chris Paul. Not only is he able to score when needed, but he is one of the best floor generals you can get.

#4. Kyrie Irving
Brooklyn has formed a monster trio with KD, Kyrie and James Harden. Kyrie’s stats for this season are 26.9 Pts, 6 Ast, and 4.8 rebounds. This season he’s also been inducted into the 50-40-90 club, proving how efficient he is at scoring the basketball. There’s no doubt the Kyrie deserves a spot on out top 5 point guard list.

#5. Luka Doncic
Luka is in his third NBA season and is already performing at high level. Averaging 27.7 Pts, 8.6 Ast, and 8 rebounds Luka has been doing a bit of everything. The Mavericks are sitting at fifth in the Western Conference with the efforts of Luka and Porzingis. If Luka maintains this current level of play he should find himself near the top of this list for years to come.
