KNOW THE COVERAGE.

WHAT THESE NUMBERS MEAN

The season browser, season comparisons, rankings and season spotlight all read the same bundled dataset. Points per game now uses the source’s reported PTS field instead of reconstructing it from rounded shooting averages.

Records use NBA player IDs and one row per player and season. Multi-team records are combined season records; the displayed team is the source label. A minimum-games filter is available on rankings, but this is not official NBA leader qualification.

Blank values remain missing, not zero. Season averages are not converted into exact career totals.

Legacy careers

The 37 manually entered career snapshots from version 3.0 are preserved separately and labeled unverified. Their original citations and update dates are unavailable, including the LeBron James snapshot. They are not certified by the structural checks on the season archive.

What is still missing

Players below the source’s 20-minute filter, seasons before 1996–97, seasons after 2024–25, playoffs, verified full-career totals and live data. The archive must not be described as all-time complete.

Sources and checks

Snapshot retrieved November 4, 2026 from Nathan Kyryk’s NBA API archive. Its collection notebook specifies regular-season per-game data and the 20-minute filter. This is a third-party snapshot, not a direct live NBA feed.

Checked: unique player-season keys, player references, finite nonnegative statistics, season format, games played, minute threshold and per-season counts. These checks establish the structure and observed coverage; they do not independently verify every statistic against the NBA.
